We appreciate that it’s hard to tell your story over and over again. Perhaps you are disappointed with existing services or feel disillusioned about the future.
We don’t have all the answers or even a magic wand but you will feel heard and validated. That means we get you and will treat you with respect and kindness.
Programs are designed with you at the centre, not to “fix” you but provide you with more strategies and tools to cope with what life throws at you.
We can work across many environments, ensuring that your voice is heard and you feel empowered.
DE’s are valued and sought after in South Australia but the discipline is still relatively new in the rest of Australia.
One of the pathways to becoming a DE is a 4-year degree from Flinders University. This disability-specific degree has foundations deeply seated in the Convention of Human Rights. At DeEd we work in the biopsychosocial model, holistically with the client and their families.
DEs are recognised by as allied health professionals by the NDIA and have their own line item code in the price guide.
The Improved Relationship Category is one of the most regulated categories of the NDIS. This is because many people living with disability are subject to a restrictive practice with no future plan to reduce or eliminate the controlling factor. This is often in violation of their human rights.
Specialised Behaviour funding is used to identify and prioritise behaviours.
Can we find a more appropriate way of satisfying that function of that behaviour?
At DeEd we are passionate about four A’s, Autism, ADHD, anger and anxiety. The diagnosis is a starting point, a signpost to get funding but we are interested in you!
The prevalence of Autism occurring with another A is high. We are curious about what works for you and what doesn’t. Our approach builds confidence and self-esteem. It starts with acceptance (another A!)
So, whether you have an A or any other letters of the alphabet, we can co-design a program with you, with you at the center, working towards your goals.
Life’s journey comes with numerous transitions, each presenting its own set of challenges and opportunities. Our service dedicated to Transitioning Across Life Stages provides guidance during these pivotal moments.
Whether it’s transitioning from school to work, moving homes, or any other significant life change, our team offers support, planning, and strategies to ensure smooth, confident navigation through these phases.
Navigating natural transitions with understanding and care.
Empowering caregivers with tools and insights.
Understanding is the first step towards meaningful intervention. Our comprehensive assessments and screeners provide a detailed, holistic understanding of an individual’s needs and strengths.
Assessments provide us with a baseline when beginning service to measure progress. The results may be shared with other professionals at your request.
The name, DeEd originated from the title of Developmental Educator. Graduates of a Bachelor of Disability & Developmental Education from Flinders University may register as DE’s with our professional body, DEAI.
Our families report that they love the wrap-around approach that DE’s provide.
“Kay is one in a million”
Navigating NDIS processes and caring for someone with a disability can often feel overwhelming. Liaising with the therapists, keeping up with the paperwork and caring responsibilities often leaves carers feeling fatigued and burnt-out.
DeEd was born, knowing that we would be different. Our energy and enthusiasm are contagious, our compassion and understanding are felt and most importantly, you are heard!
Every step we take, every program we design, and every individual we serve is a testament to our commitment to transforming lives. Experience the DeEd Difference today and join us in a journey where passion meets purpose, and dreams meet their destiny.
